He believed thatjustice had changed during the Civil war and that what was happeningwas somewhat unfair. He expressed this in a charge to make us flavoursympathetic. In each state their were different laws ,something youcould do in Kentucky you susceptibility not have got away with in New York City,justice was givenfor ma ny different reasons.
